Job Description and Duties

The Staff Services Manager I reports directly to the Assistant Director, Office of Legislation. This is a supervisory staff position that requires strong organizational skills, writing skills, computer knowledge and a working familiarity with the legislative process.  The position also requires an analytical and strategic sense of legislation and department issues; and an ability to tactfully and accurately communicate the Administration’s legislative policies and procedures both orally and in writing.

Statement of Qualifications

The SOQ must be typed, in 12-point font, and no more than two (2) pages single spaced.  The SOQ should address how the candidate’s experience, education, and training qualify them for this position.


Specifically, the SOQ should cover the candidate’s:

-Knowledge of and experience with the State legislative process.

-Their ability to convey complex or technical ideas about policy or legislation in writing a concise and easy-to-read manner.

-Their understanding of the role of the Department of State Hospitals if any.
