Job Description and Duties

Under the direction of the IT Supervisor II, the Information Technology Specialist I (ITS I) will be responsible for evaluating, preparing, reviewing, documenting and coordinating business-related information in support of the Enforcement & Licensing Modernization (ELM) Project. The incumbent will also support project management processes, including but not limited to, system testing, issue and action item management, scheduling management, communications management and change management. Additional responsibilities include California Department of Technology (CDT) Project Approval Lifecycle (PAL) support, business process improvement, as well as, ensuring the activities of the ELM project are conducted in accordance with the PAL, BAR’s strategic plan, and industry best practices.  The primary responsibility of the ITS I falls within the Business Technology Management domain.

Working Conditions

No specific physical requirements are present. The incumbent works 40 hours per week in an office setting with artificial light and temperature control.  The ability to use a personal computer and telephone is essential. The incumbent must be able to frequently remain in a stationary position at a workstation throughout the day and must occasionally position self to perform a variety of tasks including retrieval of files.

The Bureau of Automotive Repair’s mission is to protect and serve California consumers by ensuring a fair and competitive automotive repair marketplace and administering a model motor vehicle emissions reduction program.
