Job Description and Duties

Under general direction of the Senior Accounting Officer (Supervisor), the incumbent will perform the more difficult duties relating to accounting, bond reporting, and other fiscal related work. Duties  include researching general ledger transactions of the Conservancy’s support, capital, and local assistance appropriations. The Conservancy’s accounting system includes cash receipts, accounts receivable, fixed assets, accounts payable, and fund balances with corresponding revenue and expenses for approximately thirteen funds.

Incumbent will work extensively in the new State of California accounting system, Fi$cal and will be the subject matter expert for assigned FI$Cal modules. The Conservancy outsources the general ledger and accounts payable functions to Contracted Fiscal Services (CFS). Incumbent will act as the liaison between the Department and CFS, providing support and oversight.

Department Information

The California Tahoe Conservancy is a state agency within the Natural Resources Agency of the state of California.  The Conservancy's jurisdiction spans the California side of the Lake Tahoe Basin and covers approximately 236 square miles.  This service area includes the City of South Lake Tahoe and portions of El Dorado County and Placer County.

The mission of the Tahoe Conservancy is to lead California's efforts to restore and enhance the extraordinary natural and recreation resources of the Lake Tahoe Basin.

This position is subject to the Conservancy’s Conflict of Interest Code (Cal.
