Job Description and Duties

This position is located in Sacramento at DMV Headquarters.

The Department of Motor Vehicles Audits Branch, Internal Audits Office is seeking a motivated Associated Management Auditor (AMA), and will consider a Staff Services Management Auditor (SSMA). Under the direction of a Senior Management Auditor and the supervision of a Staff Management Auditor, the AMA/SSMA works in a team environment and plans, schedules, and conducts audits for Department of Motor Vehicles headquarters, Field Offices, Consolidated Registration Centers, Industry Service Centers, Travel Crew Payment Centers and Auto Clubs. Other audits may include Commercial Government Requesters, External Partners, Information Technology, and International Registration Plan audits. Duties include all phases of an audit and the development of specific findings and recommendations for compliance with California Vehicle Code, Government Code, International Registration Plan, applicable agreements, and other pertinent regulations and policies and procedures. The audits adhere to the Audits Branch Manual, International Institute of Internal Auditing Standards and Government Auditing Standards.

Desirable qualifications include ability to prepare clear, accurate, concise and complete audit work papers. Effective analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

The position(s) being advertised may be subject to allocation approval by the Human Resources Branch.  Fingerprint/Criminal Record Clearance is required before hire.  The Salary Range shown is the minimum and maximum for a full-time appointment.  Salaries for part-time and/or intermittent appointments may vary.  Moving and relocation expenses will not be reimbursed for this position.
