Job Description and Duties

PARK AIDE (SEASONAL) – CENTRAL VALLEY DISTRICT / CALAVERAS BIG TREES STATE PARK

 

The reporting location for this position is the Calaveras Big Trees State Park Visitor Center in Arnold, CA.  This position will work under the supervision of the State Park Interpreter III.

 

The Park Aide will assist the Department of Parks and Recreation staff with providing quality public relation services, museum interpretation, and information to the visiting public; work in the book store area including cashiering, stocking and minor cleaning of the visitor center facility; assist with communicating critical emergency information to the appropriate staff as needed; and to monitor activities in the visitor center to maintain proper operations and a quality work environment.

 

Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKS program.  Applicants who receive State public assistance need to identify their status as a CalWORKS recipient in the comments area on the application.  Applicants must submit a verification of their CalWORKS eligibility status, which may include the most recent Notice of Action showing TANF eligibility or a copy of your last aid check stub.  If verification is not submitted with the application, the application will not be processed. (Applicants may obtain verification from the CalWORKS program).

 

State housing is not available.

May require repetitive movement, walking, standing, twisting, answering phones or lifting object. Ability to walk across uneven terrain in both uphill and downhill conditions to perform the duties associated with the job. Perform basic mathematical computations associated with assigned duties.
