Job Description and Duties

Put your graphic design, video and social media skills to use and assist the California Air Resources Board, an environmental leader in air quality and climate change, to reach new audiences. Work with a creative communications team in a fast-paced public information office. This position is responsible for creating and posting social media, web content, email marketing, and video content on CARB's website and various social media platforms. The candidate will create content with graphic design working with highly respected environmental professionals, scientists, engineers and design professionals. This is an opportunity to be a part of a team that reaches the state, nation, and the world with messages about cutting-edge progress on some of the most important environmental challenges of our age.

Working Conditions

SACRAMENTO LOCATION: The California Air Resources Board (CARB) office is located in the beautiful CalEPA building in downtown Sacramento.

  • Position located in a high-rise building.
  • Telework is available 20% of the time.
  • Requires being in a stationary position consistent with office work for extended periods.
  • Standard office environment (for example, artificial lighting, controlled temperature, etc.)
  • Daily use of a personal computer, office equipment, and/or telephone.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

Experience with content management systems, graphic design and email marketing. A confident writer and designer familiar with the Adobe Creative Suite, video editing software (Final Cut Pro) and After Effects. Someone who can work both independently and as part of a team.
