Job Description and Duties

This position is located at the DMV Headquarters in Sacramento. 

The New Motor Voter Unit is looking for collaborative team members who possess exceptional problem solving and writing expertise to assist with automation, quality assurance, and diagnostic problem resolution. Ideal incumbents must demonstrate excellent communication skills that are necessary in effectively working with various internal and external stakeholders.

Under the direction of the Licensing Operations Division (LOD), New Motor Voter Unit Manager V, DMV, the Manager III, DMV coordinates programming requests, decision documents, publication requests, regulations operational requirements, implementation schedules, and post implementation evaluations to correct issues; and analyzes pending legislative changes to determine their full impact to DMV processes.

It is critical that the incumbents in this role are able to meet required deadlines despite multiple priorities, setbacks, and challenges; have project oversight skills and experience; and the ability to fully analyze and interpret departmental reports and technical records.

Knowledge of the DL/ID, Remittance, and/or Motor Voter processes is desirable. Will consider hiring Manager I and II, DMV.

Department Information

The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is a recognized leader in public service and has existed for over 100 years.  The DMV is responsible for registering approximately 34.7 million vehicles in California and licensing 26.5 million drivers, collecting over $8 billion in annual revenue.  The DMV also maintains and oversees many other functions.  The DMV provides quality licensing and motor vehicle-related services in its field offices located throughout California and online at www.dmv.ca.gov.
