Job Description and Duties

Under the general direction of the Energy Resources Specialist III (Supervisory) in the Freight and Transit Unit of the Fuels and Transportation Division, the incumbent will serve as a team lead in the development and deployment of alternative fuel and zero-emission and near zero-emission  vehicles and technologies, fueling infrastructure, and alternative fuel production in California by performing complex technical and analytical tasks. The incumbent will develop solicitations, conduct public workshops, review and score solicitation proposals, and manage as well as provide technical oversight of agreements resulting from Clean Transportation Program solicitations. The incumbent will work independently and participate in a team. The incumbent will use scientific principles to evaluate vehicle, infrastructure, and fuel production issues and assist private and public partners to introduce new and improved vehicles, engines, fueling stations, zero-emission and near zero-emission infrastructure and technologies, and alternative fuels through joint funding of projects, technical assistance, and education and outreach activities.

Statement of Qualifications

Salary Reduction Notice

Salaries do not reflect the reduction of pay. Effective July 1, 2020, in response to the economic crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) implemented the Personal Leave Program 2020 (PLP 2020). For Fiscal Years 2020-21 through 2021-22, employees will participate in the PLP 2020 and be credited (16) hours per month of PLP hours in return for reduction of pay equal to 9.23%. Part time employees shall be subject to the same conditions as stated above, on a pro-rated basis.
