Job Description and Duties

State Fund’s Information Technology, Claims Engineering and Re-Factoring Unit is looking for an IT professional who thrives in a dynamic and thought provoking environment.

As a Software Development Engineer, you will

  • Collaborate with other IT professionals and business users in the development of our new operating systems
  • Provide assistance, advice, and guidance to team members on relational database design concepts, application development, efficient production, object design, testing concepts, and other specialties

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years of IT Associate experience OR
  • Four (4) years of IT experience performing technical and/ or analytical tasks OR
  • 120 Semester units (or 180 quarter units) including at least 15 semester units (or 22.5 quarter units) of IT related course work.

The qualified candidate for this position will have the following skills:

  • Ability to research, analyze, and evaluate information to make and support decisions
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks
  • Ability to learn and apply new technology information quickly and effectively
  • Skill with application systems development life cycle methodology
  • Skill with IT techniques for sorting, searching, querying, etc.
  • Skill in applying testing concepts, and techniques effectively
  • Ability to work independently and as a team
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, verbally and in writing
  • Proficiency in coding computer languages (HTML, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Spring MVC, Apache, JBOSS, Ajax, JQuery
  • Working knowledge of Unix, Linux, and Windows
