The Department of Human Resources’ Administrative Services Division (ASD) provides internal support and service to the department’s line programs and the State Personnel Board (SPB). The Fiscal Office, within ASD, is responsible for budgeting and accounting. Specific functions of the Accounting Office include the full range of accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, fund reconciliations, fiscal system maintenance, and preparation of year-end financial statements.

Under the close supervision of the Accounting Administrator I-Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for accounts receivable billing, accounts payable, and detailed financial records for CalHR and the State Personnel Board (SPB). In addition, the incumbent is also responsible for providing consistent, timely, and good customer service when providing verbal and/or written correspondence to internal and external customers.

  • General accounting knowledge and knowledge of procedures/guidelines established in the State Administrative Manual (SAM), Uniform Codes Manual (UCM), FI$Cal, and special procedures memos issued by the State Controller’s Office and the Department of Finance
