Job Description and Duties

The Advanced Vehicle Infrastructure Office in the Fuels and Transportation Division seeks an Air Resources Engineer to join its staff and work on zero-emission vehicle infrastructure planning for the CEC and Caltrans. This will include electric vehicles and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.  

The Air Resources Engineer will provide engineering analysis; perform data analysis and modeling; work on strategic planning documents; and help develop and manage funding opportunities and agreements. The Air Resources Engineer will split time between projects at the CEC and Caltrans. Strong teamwork, communication, and time management skills are essential.

  • Contract management, grant funding, and agreement solicitation experience and abilities

Statement of Qualifications

When completing the SOQ, be sure to title the page “Statement of Qualifications” and include all relevant experience, education, and training for each question below. Please explain your answers thoroughly. Please also include relevant places of employment, pertinent dates, duties performed, etc., when responding to each question. 1. What is your work experience with conducting engineering analyses for zero-emission vehicle infrastructure? Describe the type of analyses you have developed and completed. How were they used to develop infrastructure projects?

2. What is your experience in data collection and analysis? What is your experience in evaluating and providing input to technical models?

3. What experience do you have working with and coordinating across multiple internal and external stakeholders? What is your experience providing outreach, education, and training to technical and non-technical professionals? Provide specific examples of your past and present roles, challenges you encountered, and your abilities to achieve results.

4. What experience do you have managing contracts and agreements, and/or in designing or implementing grant funding programs? Applications received without the SOQ will not be considered.
