Job Description and Duties

Under the general supervision of the Staff Services Manager I, Office of Tourism, the Staff Services Analyst, performs analytical duties associated with the service, filing, and database maintenance of the Tourism Assessment Program. The California Tourism Market Act provides for the marketing of California through an assessment of businesses that benefit from travel and tourism. The Tourism Assessment Program is responsible for assisting with the identification of those businesses and the collection of the assessment.

Department Information

Visit California is a not-for-profit, 501(C)(6) corporation formed in 1998 to work jointly with the State of California’s Division of Tourism to implement the annual Marketing Plan, which promotes California as a travel destination. While these two partners (Visit California and Division of Tourism) are separate legal entities, they are commonly referred to jointly as California Tourism.
