Job Description and Duties

The California Energy Commission’s Fuels and Transportation Division (FTD) is seeking exceptional people to build upon and shape California’s transportation energy future. FTD seeks a supervisor (Energy Resources Specialist III (Supervisory)) in the Advanced Vehicle Infrastructure Office.

As part of the Clean Transportation management team, the incumbent supervises and directs a team of professional and technical  staff creating and managing funding agreements to accelerate the deployment of electric vehicle infrastructure, along with a variety of related technical and analytical tasks in the Electric Vehicle Charging Innovation Unit.

FTD administers the Clean Transportation Program that invests up to $100 million annually in a broad portfolio of transportation and fuel transportation projects throughout the state. The Energy Commission leverages public and private investments to support adoption of cleaner transportation powered by zero-emission, alternative, and renewable fuels. The program plays an important role in achieving California’s ambitious goals on climate change, petroleum reduction, and adoption of zero-emission vehicles, as well as efforts to reach air quality standards. The program also supports the state’s sustainable, long-term economic development.

Working Conditions

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the majority of the duties will be performed in a telework environment, but may return to an office environment in the future. Regular and consistent attendance is essential to the successful performance in this position. Occasional travel may be required.
