Job Description and Duties


The Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI) is recruiting for one permanent/full-time, Associate Personnel Analyst/Staff Services Analyst position in the Human Resources Office, Administration Division. Positions will be located in the Sacramento office. This recruitment may be used to fill subsequent vacancies of these positions in DFPI within the next 180 days.

Under the direct supervision of the Personnel Services Manager (SSM II), within the Classification and Pay Unit, the Classification and Pay Analyst performs a full range of classification and pay assignments for the DFPI. This includes reviewing, analyzing, and making determinations on hiring packages; reviewing and making recommendations for various requests such as Out-of-Class and Training and Development assignments; and providing consultative services to assigned division hiring managers or their designees. The incumbent also provides specialized training on the hiring process and assists in a variety of special projects.

Working Conditions

The incumbent works 40 hours per week on average in an office setting, either at DFPI Offices or in a Telework setting. The Sacramento office is located in North Natomas, with free parking, climate controlled, with cubicle workstations exposed to natural and artificial lighting. Daily use of computer, office equipment, and telephone.

The Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI) (formerly Department of Business Oversight) protects consumers and oversees financial service providers and products. The DFPI supervises the operations of state-licensed financial institutions, including banks, credit unions and money transmitters. Additionally, the DFPI licenses and regulates a variety of financial service providers, including securities brokers and dealers, investment advisers, payday lenders and other consumer finance lenders.
