Job Description and Duties

Under the general direction the of the Staff Services Manager III, the Staff Services Manager II (Programs Manager) is responsible for managing the California Art Council's portfolio of arts funding opportunities. The Programs Manager will be responsible for leading multi-disciplinary teams and Council Committee members in developing and implementing program policies, applications and administrative processes to ensure available funds are expended in accordance with statutory, contractual, and state administrative requirements. The Programs Manager provides training and assistance needed to grantees/contractors, monitors performance, and measures the overall success of the arts programs.

This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code. The position is responsible for making or participating in the making of governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests. The appointee is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment. Failure to comply with the Conflict of Interest Code requirements may void the appointment.

Working Conditions

  • Professional office environment, appropriate business attire required.
  • Daily use of laptop computers, phone, fax, copiers, and general office equipment.

  • Use of hand cart to transport documents and/or equipment up to 15-20 lbs., i.e. laptop computer, files, reference manuals, solicitation documents, etc.
