Job Description and Duties

Under the general direction of the Deputy Director, the Staff Services Manager II (SSM II) leads a team of county expert liaisons and resource coordinators to support the successful development, review, approval, and implementation of county plans associated with providing county-based custody, care, and reentry supervision of youth involved in the juvenile justice system. The SSM II supports the Office of Youth and Community Restoration (OYCR) in the implementation of Senate Bill 823, Chapter 337, and Statutes of 2020, which promotes evidence-based trauma responsive, culturally respectful, and gender specific services for youth involved in the juvenile justice system. These services are designed to support the youths' successful transition into adulthood and help them fulfill their goals and achieve their potential as responsible, thriving, and engaged members of their communities. The SSM II oversees OYCR's review and approval of the county plans which is carried out by county expert liaisons .and resource coordinators in the County Coordination Unit (CCU), Office of Youth and Community Restoration (OYCR). The SSM II also directs and oversees the provision of technical support to counties to assist their plan development and implementation.

 Statewide or regional travel may be required. Telework options may be available.

Working Conditions

The work location is very convenient! The CHHS office recently moved into the newly constructed Allenby Building at 1215 O Street in Downtown Sacramento. We are one block away from light rail and public transportation; within walking distance to the State Capitol, parks, restaurants, farmer’s markets and the Golden 1 Arena. We will soon offer an onsite cafeteria, coffee shop and a workout room. Our building has easy access to I-5, Highway 50 and Highway 80.
