Job Description and Duties

 It is the mission of the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) to continually enhance the professionalism of California law enforcement in serving its communities.

POST is recruiting for the position of Law Enforcement Consultant II and will consider hiring at the level of Law Enforcement Consultant I.

The term VAR
 in the position number indicates that multiple opportunities may exist for this classification. Positions may exist in one of more of the following bureaus:

Basic Training
Responsible for the development and maintenance of a variety of different basic training programs.

Management Counseling/Special Projects
Provides management studies, peace officer feasibility studies, team building workshops, and field management training.  

Learning Technology Resources
Dedicated to researching and developing advanced technology for training law enforcement.

Training, Delivery and Compliance
Liaison between the Commission and Law Enforcement Agencies, training managers, and Course presenters. Certifies quality law enforcement training and ensures the delivery of that training.

Training Program Services
Responsible for the development of training curricula for California Peace Officers.

Standards Accountability Division
Responsible for programs within the Standards Accountability Division and works to implement Senate Bill 2.
