Job Description and Duties

Are you looking for a fast-paced and challenging position that will utilize your mainframe and COBOL skills to provide crucial help to Californians? Does extensive variety, challenging deadlines, frequent exposure to managers and staff in the Information Technology (IT) Branch as well program areas excite you? The Employment Development Department (EDD) is looking for a highly motivated and qualified individual to work in the Mainframe Benefit Services Section of the Application Services Division. The IT Specialist II provides technical leadership to the team that processes Unemployment Insurance, Disability Insurance, Paid Family Leave, Benefit Accounting and Employer Reporting. The IT Specialist II combines the necessary qualities of effective project leadership, technical knowledge, and competence needed to train and mentor the EDD's staff and customers in a complex technical area or process.

Telework may be available at your home where access to high-speed internet would be required.

Positions exist in downtown Sacramento, located at EDD’s Headquarters office.

Statement of Qualification Requirement

A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is Required. The SOQ is not a resume or cover letter.
