Job Description and Duties

The incumbent works under the direction of the Chief, Federal Grant Management Section (FGMS), Staff Services Manager II (SSM II). The Staff Services Manager I (SSM I) oversees the full range of financial accounting and budgeting activities for CDPH/WIC. Develops policies and procedures to ensure that CDPH/WIC meets all federal and state financial requirements associated with grant reporting, allowable expenditures, rebates, and other grant obligations; evaluates fiscal controls, verifies the validity of program expenditures and financial statements, and makes recommendations on cost allocation plans, budgets, financial statements, administrative controls, and other accounting issues. The manager actively participates as member of the WIC Division management team.
