Job Description and Duties

Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager (SSM) II of the Legislation and Regulations Section, the SSM I oversees the day-to-day operations of the Legislation Unit. The SSM I is primarily responsible for the direction and supervision of staff that conduct complex administrative, analytical, and financial assignments, including but not limited to, conducting legislative bill analysis; promulgating regulations; and implementing a broad range of behavioral health policies and programs in the Medi-Cal Specialty Mental Health Services (SMHS) and Substance Use Disorder (SUD) services areas.
