Job Description and Duties

This position is located in Sacrament HQ.

The Office of Public Affairs (OPA) at the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) is looking for a creative and high-energy Communications Manager to lead our team of dedicated professionals. The manager will come up with fresh and engaging ways to tell stories of the great work CDTFA does for all Californians.

OPA is an exciting and fast-paced environment in a unique department. CDTFA administers 37 tax and fee programs, with sales and use tax as the largest. OPA collaborates closely with department executives to develop and execute media engagement, press relations, and communicate a clear message to help our taxpayers understand and fulfill their financial obligations. Under direction of OPA Staff Services Manager II, the Communications Manager performs one of the most fundamental functions of the department - making sure that our communications are clear and impactful.

This is a hybrid position with up to fifty percent (50%) telework available. The successful candidate must meet the minimum qualifications required for an Information Office II position.
