The position is located in Oakland, CA.

 

Under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager II, the incumbent works as part of the Budget Unit, and in coordination with other administrative units, project staff, and Federal/State/local entities. This position will assist with the preparation and administration of the annual budget for the State Coastal Conservancy, along with other budget, financial, or administrative related tasks.

 

This position will be filled at the Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) classification. To see more details about the AGPA job functions, please see attached duty statement below.

Working Conditions

• Position is in a high-rise building (Oakland, CA Headquarters).
• Daily work on a computer up to 8 hours per day, use office equipment, and telephone.
• The Conservancy has a telework policy for Headquarter (HQ) employees, that allows staff to telework up to 3 days per week. A computer for telework use can be provided if needed. The Conservancy has developed a return to office plan, which began September 19, 2022. All Headquarters employees are currently required to be in the office once a week. They must be in the office on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month for “all-staff” meetings. The other weeks, you may come in on your selected schedule day.
• Standard office environment (i.e., artificial lighting, controlled temperature, shared office space, etc.).
• May work in a stationary position consistent with office work for extended periods.
• Office setting: Monday through Friday (may be allowed to telework 3 days per week; computer for telework use will be provided if needed).
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds with accommodation as needed.
• Indoor work is common, although outdoor work may be necessary.
• Multitask, meet deadlines, and adjust to changing priorities in a cooperative manner.
• Travel with overnight stays necessary on occasion as necessary.
• Work hours may be various as needed, such as weekends, evenings, and overtime.

The Coastal Conservancy (SCC) is a state agency that undertakes and supports projects to protect, restore and enhance coastal resources, promote resilience to climate change impacts, and increase opportunities for the public to enjoy the coast. SCC works along the entire length of California’s coast and within the watersheds of rivers and streams that extend inland from the coast. The Conservancy also works throughout the nine-county San Francisco Bay Area and the entire Santa Ana River watershed. The Conservancy awards and oversees grants to local governments, other state agencies, nonprofit organizations, and tribes, using various types of funding, including bond funds, federal funds, and mitigation fees. The Conservancy is a small agency of 80 dedicated, experienced employees who work collaboratively and creatively to achieve the Conservancy’s mission. The Conservancy office is located in Oakland, California, near 12th Street BART.
