Job Description and Duties

Will Consider Staff Services Analyst (General).

The California Transportation Commission is looking for a dynamic, talented, and hard-working individual to support the Commission’s Administration and Financial Management functions. The position performs the more responsible, varied, and complex technical analytical staff services assignments associated with the Administration and Financial Management Office and provides support to Commissioners and Commission staff. The incumbent is expected to consistently exercise initiative, independence, and originality in performing assigned tasks, including but not limited to; procurement, contracting, manual and policy review, and assisting with budgets, resource management, administration, human resources, and coordination and organization of committee meetings. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent numeracy skills, be able to successfully meet deadlines while managing multiple priorities, and be proficient using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Working Conditions

This position in located in Sacramento.

This position involves teleworking and reporting to the office as needed and/or required. The incumbent is required to comply with telework agreement policies and procedures.

Travel to the Commission meetings may be required. Occasional travel to other meetings and hearings may also be required. Must have effective communication with other staff members, Commission’s Executive Director, and be responsive to information requests from Commission members and other stakeholders.

While at their base of operation, employee will work in a climate-controlled office under artificial lighting.

Employee may be required to sit for long periods using a keyboard and video display terminal to review and access information.

Department Information

The CTC is responsible for the programming and allocating of funds for the construction of highway, passenger rail, active transportation, aeronautics, and transit improvements throughout California. The CTC also advises and assists the Secretary of the California State Transportation Agency (CalSTA) and the Legislature in formulating and evaluating state policies and plans for California's transportation programs. The CTC is also an active participant in the initiation and development of State and Federal legislation that seeks to secure financial stability for the State's transportation needs.

  1. Experience developing and knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to contracts and acquisitions.

 

  1. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, work independently and meet alternating deadlines.
