The State Water Resources Control Board’s Office of Information Management and Analysis (OIMA) has an opening for a Senior Environmental Scientist (Specialist) to be the State Water Board’s Quality Assurance (QA) Officer and Liaison to the United State Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) Region 9 QA Office
As the State Water Board QA Officer, you will coordinate and lead the Water Boards’ Quality Management System and review the quality systems of Water Board programs and provide recommendations to executive management on areas that require further development and prioritization by the agency. The QA Officer will also play a critical role in establishing performance objectives and monitoring the data quality of laboratories under contract by the State Water Board, and guiding Water Board programs on technical issues related to laboratory practices, standard analytical methods, and method validation processes.
The position is eligible for telework with periodic travel and in-office days based on operational needs of the position. The office is located at 1001 I Street, 19th Floor, Sacramento, right in the heart of downtown next to light rail stations and other public transportation.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.
