Job Description and Duties

The California Office of the Small Business Advocate (CalOSBA) is established by statute with a number of specified du??es to serve as the lead office on entrepreneurship charged with providing small businesses in the State of California with the informa??on and resources needed to succeed in the marketplace and serving as the principal advocate in the state on behalf of small businesses statewide. Under supervision from the Chief of Staff, and indirect supervision from the Director, Office of Small Business Advocate, the Small Business Marke??ng Manager will work to promote CalOSBA and its programs and provide programma??c support. Up to 5% travel may be required.

Working Conditions

Remote: this position is eligible for a full-time telework schedule under Government Code 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California but may require reporting in-person at headquarters in Sacramento upon request. #li-remote  #li-remote

Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) Instructions:

Note: The Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) should be no more than 2 pages in length one and a half space, 1 inch left and right margins, and a font size comparable to Arial 12 point

1.Describe your experience developing educational and/or outreach marketing materials, such as fact sheets, brochures, and infographics, in addition to creating marketing campaigns that include scripts for video productions to market the organization’s brand.  Please describe your role and responsibilities and your process. Also, identify how you plan and track projects and assignments.

2. Describe your experience leading and directing the work of others for marketing campaigns, social media marketing, and website design, development, and maintenance, in addition to providing marketing/website analytics to monitor and track customer engagement on social media platforms i.e., Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram.  Please describe your roles and responsibilities.

3. Describe your experience preparing written documents for publication, i.e., for example writing press releases, talking points, and developing language for external marketing campaigns. Also, identify your experience working with strategic partners to provide guidance, and share best practices and guidelines for the industry-focused organization’s brand strategy while maintaining consistent and timely products. Please describe your roles and responsibilities.
