DIVISION DESCRIPTION
The California Housing Finance Agency’s (CalHFA), Policy, Strategy and Legislative Affairs Division provides a vital policy, political, and strategic lens to CalHFA’s decision-making process and manages the Agency’s state and federal legislative relationships. CalHFA is a public service organization committed to addressing California’s housing crisis.

POSITION SUMMARY
Under direction of the Director of Policy, Strategy and Legislative Affairs (Director), the Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) performs a variety of duties relating to analyzing emerging legislative issues for the Division. The AGPA will also provide technical assistance and coordination on policy and legislation with various internal and external stakeholders.

Working Conditions

CalHFA is a high-rise building conveniently located in downtown Sacramento with access to public transportation (light rail and bus) and freeways (I-5, 99, and Business 80). It is a block from Downtown Commons (DOCO), the Golden 1 Center, and many restaurants. CalHFA employees also have access to the gym located in the building.

Established in 1975, CalHFA was chartered as the state's affordable housing lender. The Agency's Multifamily Division finances affordable rental housing through partnerships with jurisdictions, developers and more, while its Single Family Division provides first mortgage loans and down payment assistance to first-time homebuyers. CalHFA is a completely self-supporting state agency, and its bonds are repaid by revenues generated through mortgage loans, not taxpayer dollars.

BE LIST ELIGIBLE:

Successfully complete the competitive State civil service exam
pertaining to this classification at  
Associate Governmental Program Analyst

 

 

OR


BE TRANSFER ELIGIBLE:

Have current employment with the State of California in the same classification or in a classification that is comparable (employees who wish to be considered based on transfer eligibility must meet the minimum qualifications of the classification per DPA Rule 250)

 

OR


BE REINSTATEMENT ELIGIBLE:

Have obtained previous permanent employment with the State of California in the same classification or in a classification that is comparable.
