Job Description and Duties

Do you have experience with municipal debt or investment of public funds? We are looking for someone to join our Policy Research Unit who can independently plan, organize, and conduct economic studies, literature reviews and be able to respond to technical assistance inquiries about municipal debt issuance and public fund investment topics. This position involves working with the State Treasurer’s Office, the State Legislature, and local government agencies and municipal finance professionals from the public and private sectors.

This position will run Until Filled with the following cut off dates: 1st and the 15th of each month. 

This listing is also being advertised at the Research Data Specialist II and Research Data Analyst II levels. Candidates may apply for all levels. However, candidates must submit a separate application for each level.

Department Information

The California Debt and Investment Advisory Commission (CDIAC) provides information, education and technical assistance on debt issuance and public fund investments to local public agencies and other public finance professionals. CDIAC’s Policy Research Unit works to improve the marketability of public debt issued in California and the safety and performance of municipal investment portfolios by undertaking or commissioning studies on various aspects of the debt and investment markets, providing guidance to state and local debt issuers and investment managers, and recommending legislative changes in matters affecting debt issuance and public funds investing.

• Demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness, and good judgment.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and make independent and thought-out recommendations on various topics.
