In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
• Strong legal research, analysis, and writing skills.
• Ability to present effective oral arguments at hearings before administrative tribunals
• Ability to independently organize and manage a high volume of work and perform in potentially stressful situations.
• Strong academic background that demonstrates the candidate is driven such as participation in law review or journal, a board member of a law school organization, or recipient of a law school award or special recognition
• Ability to interview witnesses and examine both percipient and expert witnesses at hearings and trials
• A passion for public service including previous experience as a volunteer or employment for a non-profit or government organization
• Ability to clearly and respectfully advise and communicate with clients, colleagues, supervisors, and court personnel
• Openness to collaboration, including receiving feedback from colleagues, supervisors, and clients on case strategy and written work product
