In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

• Excellent interpersonal, analytical, time management and organizational skills. Ability to work cooperatively with management, attorneys, peers, courts, and the general public.
• Ability to act independently and as a member of a legal team to gather documents, identify legal issues, analyze documents in the development of a case.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills demonstrating the ability to accurately draft and proofread a legal document ensuring compliance with English grammar and syntax rules and correct legal citation consistent with the California Style Manual.
• Ability to conduct legal research and possess a working knowledge of legal research resources including research using books as well as software applications.
• Working knowledge of legal concepts, terminology, principles, and procedures and the ability to apply this knowledge at the journey level.
• Ability to manage a large caseload and ensure deadlines are met.
• Ability to interpret a statute and/or regulation and accurately analyze a fact pattern against the law to arrive at a sound conclusion.
