The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) is responsible for protecting and improving the health and well-being of all Californians. As part of the California Health and Human Services Agency, CDPH leads statewide public health initiatives including disease prevention, health promotion, environmental health oversight, and the monitoring of vital health data. Its core functions include enforcing public health laws, supporting healthcare systems, and delivering programs that address population health outcomes across diverse communities. This position resides in the Center for Infectious Diseases, Division of Communicable Disease Control (DCDC) responsible for the prevention, surveillance, and control of infectious diseases across the state. The Division leads statewide efforts to monitor reportable diseases, investigate outbreaks, and implement evidence-based interventions to reduce transmission and protect public health. DCDC works in close partnership with local health jurisdictions, healthcare providers, laboratories, and federal agencies to ensure timely detection and coordinated response to emerging and ongoing public health threats.
