At the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), equity, diversity, and inclusion are foundational to our mission to advance the health and well-being of California’s diverse people and communities. The Information Technology Services Division (ITSD) powers this mission with secure, modern platforms and services.
About the role’s ecosystem: CDPH’s Office of Data Strategy (ODS) led by the Chief Data Officer (CDO) guides enterprise data strategy and governance across all programs. The Application Development and Support Branch (ADSB) under the Chief Technology Officer within ITSD, delivers the technical backbone (platforms, pipelines, analytics enablement, exchange services) that turns strategy into action. The ADSB Chief partners closely with ODS on data modernization and to build durable program partnerships that accelerate adoption of shared architectures, standards, and practices across CDPH.
Our modernization priorities: CDPH is advancing interoperable, cloud-native data platforms; establishing enterprise governance (standards, catalog, quality); and improving real-time public health intelligence aligned to CalHHS Data Exchange Framework (DxF) and Future of Public Health (FoPH) priorities.
