Under the general supervision of the Tax Administrator I, Budgets and Operations Group (BOG), Administration Section, in the Tax Support Division, the incumbent:
Handles sensitive and confidential assignments with tact and diplomacy, communicate effectively, apply good judgment, and be able to work both independently and in a team environment.
Accurately compiles and posts certification of attendance records.
Accurately compiles employee benefit and personnel forms for the Division staff and management, and keeps management informed of any sensitive or critical issues. Compiles the STD 603 (Dock Report), and STD 671 (Miscellaneous Payroll/Leave Actions Form), prepares memorandums (DE 16) for STD 672 (Time and Attendance Report) attendance corrections.
Reconciles time and dock reports, maintains attendance database, reconciles all leave balances and corrections. Prepares appointment and separation documents.
Interprets and applies the laws, rules and policies of the State Personnel Board, State Controller's Office and the California Public Employee's Retirement System for Division staff and management.
Uses various manuals such as EDD's Attendance Clerk Handbook and the Personnel Management Handbook.
Posses good organizational skills, have the ability to prioritize workloads to meet deadlines, and perform other duties as required.
Acts as subject matter expert for the Branch and liaison with Human Resource Services Division (HRSD) on all attendance and employee benefit inquiries.
Assists with sorting and distributing incoming mail; maintains and updates the Tax Branch Resource Directory; and maintains office supply inventory.
Coordinates and provides various reports to management. Assists with travel arrangements, travel packages, and travel claims for Branch Executives.
The incumbent may be required to move boxes which may weigh up to 25 pounds.
This position is headquartered in Sacramento and may be eligible for telework under EDD's telework policy. California Government Code Section 14200 requires employees to reside in California to telecommute. Employees are required to report to their headquarters office, as needed. Travel expenses to and from the assigned headquarters are the responsibility of the employee.
