A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is required. Please note that resumes, cover letters, and/or any other documents do not take the place of the SOQ. Applicants who fail to submit a complete SOQ as instructed and/or fail to submit all of the required documents may be eliminated from the selection process.
The SOQ serves as documentation of your ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing. In your SOQ, describe your experience, knowledge, and competencies as they relate to each of the items listed below. The items must be addressed and numbered in the same order as listed; do not consolidate responses. The SOQ must be no more than 1 page, typed, using 12- point Arial font on standard letter-sized paper with one (1)-inch margins.
Question 1: Clerical Support & Task Prioritization
Describe your experience providing administrative and clerical support in a fast-paced environment. How do you prioritize conflicting tasks—such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, maintaining calendars, and managing urgent supervisor requests—while maintaining accuracy and meeting strict deadlines?
Question 2: Confidentiality & Sensitive Records
This position handles sensitive personnel files, medical/resident records, and performance evaluations. Describe a time when you were responsible for handling highly confidential information. What specific steps and precautions did you take to protect privacy and maintain compliance?
Question 3: Technical Skills & Data Management
Detail your proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). Provide a specific example of how you have used Excel to track data (e.g., supply orders, training compliance, or attendance) and Word/Outlook to prepare polished correspondence, meeting minutes, or reports.
Question 4: Communication, Public Relations, & Tact
Describe your experience interacting directly with the public, clients, or residents and their families. How do you exercise sound judgment, tact, and patience when communicating with individuals who may be distressed, confused, or demanding?

A complete application package includes: a STD. 678 and a State of Qualifications.
If your eligibility requires that you meet the Minimum Qualifications of the class and you qualify under pattern requiring education, then the selected candidate will be required to provide college transcripts prior to appointment.
