Job Description and Duties

Under the supervision of a Materials and Stores Supervisor, and /or Warehouse Manager II, the Warehouse Worker performs and is responsible for the efficient, skilled completion of all tasks and functions associated with the receipt, storage, inventory, and distribution of departmental expendable and accountable supply items and materials sent to internal and external customers statewide. The Warehouse Worker reports to, and receives direction from, the Materials and Stores Supervisor. Receives close to general supervision when being trained. Shortly after the initial training period, the Warehouse Worker will need to adapt to various situations, judge which learned work methods and systematic processes obtain the desired results and communicate effectively with all persons encountered.

All eligible candidates may apply; however, hiring preference will be given to applicants who are currently permanent full-time in the classification advertised applying through the Bargaining Unit 12 Post and Bid process. A training and development assignment may be considered. SROA/Surplus candidates are encouraged to apply.

Fingerprint/Criminal Record Clearance is required before hire. The Salary Range Shown is the minimum and maximum for a full-time appointment. Salaries for part-time and/or intermittent appointments may vary.  Moving and relocation expenses will not be reimbursed for this position.

Requisite skills and abilities required of the position: Operation of powered materials handling equipment. Neatness and willingness to do heavy manual labor in either indoor or outdoor storage areas. Regular and reliable attendance; reporting to work regularly and timely; and team player.

Days off: Saturday and Sunday
