The reporting location for this position is Sacramento, CA. This position will work Under the general direction of the CNRA Security Operations Center (SOC) Manager.
The California Natural Resources Agency (CNRA) is seeking an Information Technology Specialist II (ITS II) to join the CNRA IT Headquarters team in Downtown Sacramento.
The ITS II serves as a highly technical, skilled, self-motivated, and security-focused professional responsible for providing expert-level knowledge and support of SOC functions and technologies.
The incumbent will monitor CNRA information assets, systems, and infrastructure and perform security analysis, event correlation, investigation, reporting, incident response, and cyberforensics. The position will also provide expertise in cyber threat intelligence, vulnerability intelligence and management, and security operations.
Key responsibilities include:
• Conducting continuous security monitoring and analysis of CNRA information assets, systems, and infrastructure.
• Performing threat hunting campaigns and identifying potential security threats and vulnerabilities.
• Managing and responding to cybersecurity incidents.
• Conducting malware analysis and digital forensics.
• Correlating security events and investigating potential security incidents.
• Developing and disseminating cybersecurity intelligence and information.
• Supporting information sharing and collaboration related to cybersecurity threats and incidents.
