Under the general direction of the Education Administrator I of the High School Innovations and Initiatives Office, and the Director of the Career and College Transition Division, and working cooperatively with program units and supervisors throughout the California Department of Education, the Supervisor I will perform duties including but not limited to the following:
• Provide direction and support to carry out the office’s budget, contract, grant, website, personnel, and reporting responsibilities.
• Participate in division management team activities to carry out division goals and objectives.
• Provide administrative oversight for all activities relating to office programs and projects to ensure appropriate use of funds and compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Coordinate and delegate workload to analytical and support staff in support of all office activities.
• Direct the distribution of funds associated with office programs and projects, including overseeing competitive processes to determine awardees.
• Oversee all contract and grant processes to ensure the appropriate encumbrance, distribution, and expenditure of funds according to state and federal regulations.
• Provide technical assistance and liaison activities to ensure all legal requirements are met and department processes are followed.
• Carry out supervisory practices in the pursuit of high performance standards, and encourage staff training and development opportunities. Plan, coordinate, and assign workloads to ensure that complete staff work and timelines are met; develop office goals/objectives and work plans; provide technical assistance to ensure all program responsibilities are carried out.
• Direct all office personnel functions, and apply applicable personnel, labor relations, and ADA practices in the recruitment, selection, hiring, and supervision of employees.

This position is subject to PLP 2025 and will have a monthly base pay reduction of 3% in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits through June 2027.
