In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
Qualified candidates will have demonstrated excellent organizational and management skills, strong analytical skills, enthusiasm and initiative, good judgement and tact, keen interpersonal and problem-solving skills, and effective written and verbal communication skills, as well as the capability to effectively lead, coach, motivate, and develop a team. Knowledge and interst in zero emission technologoes, including, but not limited to automotive batteries, electric powertrains, and charging infrastructure is desirable. The ideal candidate would have experience with implementing regulations; knowledge of zero-emission and air quality regulations; knowledge of CARB's policies; expertise regarding stakeholder outreach; and should have experience with engaging a wide variety of stakeholders. The candidate must be committed to working closely with CARB staff in other branches and divisions, government agencies, industry, university researchers, and other stakeholders. Successful candidates will also be familiar with current environmental equity concepts and express desire to explore their application to zero-emission vehicles.The most competitive candidate will also be an effective public speaker.
