Under general supervision of the Financial Planning and Analysis (FPA) Federal Manager, within the Financial Management Office (FMO), the Research Data Analyst II performs, designs, implements the more complex research, data analytics, and statistical works for the operations of the Federal Financial Reporting and Analysis Unit. Duties include but is not limited to Federal activities of tracking program income, state match, real property, system reconciliations, administration, and training. The position ensures the quality, accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness of workload assignments.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

  • Experience with advanced features (formulas, pivot tables, macros, power query, etc.) in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience analyzing and manipulating large and complex data sets from financial and enterprise information systems.
  • Experience using database applications, such as Microsoft Access and MySQL, and programming languages, such as VBA and SQL.
  • Experience using data visualization and analytical tools, such as Microsoft Power BI and Tableau.
  • The ability to work independently, collaborate with the team and a proactive learner willing to work on projects and assignments
