In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
Experience in accounting/ financial record keeping, and knowledge of accounting principles and procedures associated with California's accounting structure (e.g., accounts receivables, cashiering)
Knowledge and/ or understanding of policies and regulations; understanding of state fiscal policy, Uniform Codes Manual (UCM), the State Administrative Manual (SAM), the Manual of State Funds, business law, and government code
Experience working with all levels of staff within a department, as well as control agencies
Experience with financial accounting systems such as FI$Cal, QuickBooks or similar software
Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and/ or Adobe
Experience with writing reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals, or tasks of equivalent skill level/difficulty
Education as it relates to Accounting or other related field such as Business/ Economics or Finance
