Job Description and Duties

Under the direction of Information Technology Supervisor II, The Information Technology Specialist I is responsible for a wide variety of tasks requiring regular innovative problem-solving. The Information Technology Specialist I is responsible for multiple program areas, and is the project lead for planning, developing, and implementing technological solutions essential to the mission of the CHP. This role affects large numbers of people on a continuous basis in the Software Engineering, Client Services, and IT Project Management domains for the Software Development Group (SDG).

Working Conditions

This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule upon completion of the probationary period for employees who can satisfactorily perform their essential work functions independently and remotely. Specific telework schedules may be discussed further during the interview process. Telework is only available to residents of California.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
Strong experience in business processes and develops software using development tools including C#, .NET, Structured Query Language (SQL), SharePoint, and Azure DevOps. Utilizes object-oriented methodologies including Model-View-Controller, Bootstrap, Active Server Pages, and Active Data Objects.
• Strong experience with software development utilizing .NET, C#, and Visual Studio.
• Strong experience with ASP.Net Web application development.
• Experience using Microsoft Azure DevOps to manage source code.
• Excellent knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle.
• Experience with relational databases including SQL, database design, and development.
• Strong experience providing operational support with ability to manage and track incidents, troubleshoot, and prove resolutions.
• Experience automating repeatable processes, including test automation.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services Deployment and PowerShell scripting.
• Experience with DevOps practices and tools, including continuous integration and continuous deployment.
