Job Description and Duties

Under the supervision of the Licensing Program Manager I in the Orange County Child Care Regional Office,  the Child Care Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) is responsible for a full range of licensing duties which may include: develop and implement orientations, training programs; review applications; recommend license approval/denial; perform on-site facility evaluations; investigate complaints in licensed and unlicensed facilities; recommend and prepare administrative actions to deny, revoke, and suspend facility licenses.  Subject to fingerprinting and criminal record clearance by DOJ/FBI.This position requires lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds, climbing stairs, sitting for extended periods and using a computer and keyboard. Must be able to travel.

Training and Development assignments may be considered based on the availability of eligible candidates and are subject to approval by the Hiring Authority prior to appointment. Training and Development assignments are considered limited term, 12 months, and may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent.

Please include a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) with your application  for the hiring manager's  review. The SOQ will be your first interview for this position. If your qualifications are competitive, you will be invited to an on-site interview.

The SOQ should be no longer than two pages, single-spaced, and in12-point font. Please provide answers to the following questions to the best of your ability:

1.  What experience do you have working with a vulnerable population?

2. The Licensing Program Analyst requires you to analyze situations and use sound judgment. What is an example of when you had to utilize these skills and what was the outcome?

3. This position requires strong presentation and training skills. Do you feel confident in your abilities to present and train in small or large groups? What experience do you have with this?

A notation or reference to other materials such as resumes or applications will not be considered and will not substitute for the SOQ. Failure to answer the questions required in the SOQ may result in elimination from the hiring process.
