Job Description and Duties

State Fund is seeking career-minded professionals to serve in multiple locations in California as full-time permanent Workers' Compensation Insurance Specialists in Premium Audit and Small Commercial Operations. Small Commercial Operations and Premium Audit are high volume, fast-paced environments that require the use of technical knowledge, ability to analyze information from multiple sources, and the application of superior judgment.


Under general supervision of a Manager I, the incumbent will:
  • Perform the full range of duties necessary to conduct payroll audits and underwrite, quote, and service accounts
  • Review new and renewing accounts for accurate pricing of workers compensation insurance policies for California's employers
  • Engage in auditing payroll records to verify and determine correct payroll and employment classifications
  • Coordinate policyholder servicing and maintenance, and participate on special projects as assigned

The Workers' Compensation Insurance Specialist position is remote-centered or office based, and will be filled at a Statewide level. Candidates must have permanent residence in California. Please note that Premium Audit also has an open recruitment for Field Auditors in Riverside, Orange, San Diego, Ventura, Los Angeles, Redding, Sonoma, Kern and San Luis Obispo counties. Working Conditions

This position has an option to telework and is subject to change based on State Fund guidelines and business needs.

Starting June 2022, selected candidate(s) hired may be required to attend in-person Onboarding at our Vacaville office.  Expenses for Onboarding attendance would be paid by State Fund.

Special Requirements
