Job Description and Duties

The Family Engagement and Empowerment Division (FEED) Field Services Section (FSS) is looking for a Child Nutrition Supervisor II (CNS II) statewide. This individual will be responsible for providing supervision, mentorship and direction to two Child Nutrition Supervisor Is. They will provide feedback and be able to review federally mandated administrative reviews for accuracy and federal and state compliance.

The individual 
must have skills with interpreting state laws and federal regulations. We are looking for individuals who have leaderships skills and can provide direction and oversight to a total of 10 - 12 staff, including two Child Nutrition Supervisor I’s and approximately 10 Child Nutrition Consultants and Assistants (CNAs). This position may require up to 20 percent travel.

DUTIES:

•Supervise the activities of the CNCs and CNAs administrative reviews (ARs), including program complaints, follow up investigations and serious deficient agencies within a timely manner.

•Review and evaluate reports prepared by CNCs and CNAs as a result of ARs to determine if state laws and federal regulations are met.

•Educate, train, and provide technical assistance for FEED staff and community programs; and establish liaisons with licensing departments and county and city officials to promote successful ARs.

Working Conditions

This position can be filled in Sacramento, Fresno, and Los Angeles counties.

While the CNS II will be a statewide recruitment with the option for considerable telework, the selected candidate will be asked to choose a “home office” from one of the three existing CACFP Branch office locations in Sacramento, Fresno, or Los Angeles. Should the need arise to work from the office or complete a specific task in the office, the CNS II will report to their home office.

The CACFP is a state and federally funded Child Nutrition Program (CNP) designed to provide nutritious meals and snacks served to infants, children, and adults. CACFP providers are reimbursed for meals and snacks that are served. The goal of the program is to enhance participants health and well-being. There are four components to the CACFP: (1) Child Care, (2) Adult Day Care, (3) Emergency Shelter, and (4) At-risk After school Care.


Special Requirements

Training and Development assignments are considered limited term, 12 months, and may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent.
