In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in emissions inventories (stationary or mobile), air pollution monitoring, or regulatory implementation. Experience working with local air districts and community groups is desirable. Knowledge of emissions models, statistics and CARB air quality and climate programs is highly desirable. Experience with research contracts, software development contracts, conducting data collection surveys, developing emissions inventories, and using databases is also desirable. Experience with GIS is a plus. The successful candidates for these positions will demonstrate initiative, have excellent written and oral communication skills, have the ability to understand technical and policy issues, have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, work effectively with other staff, and coordinate well with community, industry, and government stakeholders. The successful candidates must also be able to work independently or in a team setting and have excellent interpersonal skills. The successful candidates will demonstrate an ability to evaluate technical data as well as have a strong background in air pollution, science or engineering, and public policy.
